Victim Services are here to support you if you have, or think you may have been, a victim of crime in the Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton or Hartlepool areas. This is a free service; our friendly and experienced team have been helping people since 2016.

Supporting anyone affected by crime or antisocial behaviour

The Victim Care and Advice Service (VCAS) is available to anyone affected by crime in the Cleveland area. We provide a free, independent and confidential service, that responds to your individual circumstances.  We help you to cope with the initial impact of what’s happened, provide support through the Criminal Justice System, if required, and assist you in your journey to recovery.

Fraud/Scams

It is estimated that more than 50% of all crime committed in the UK is fraud and it is the most common kind of crime today. We are specialists in supporting people and deliver a high standard of support to people targeted by fraudsters.
Fraud can take many forms.

Violent Crime

A violent crime is when someone uses physical force upon you, this can include a threat of violence. Violent crime often takes place in public spaces or residential homes and may include the use of weapons such as knives.

Burglary is when someone unlawfully enters into your property with the intention of stealing, hurting someone or causing damage. This can be any property and entry can be gained by damaging a door or a window, or by walking through an unlocked door.

Cyber criminals seek to exploit human or security vulnerabilities in order to steal passwords, data or money directly. The most common cyber threats include hacking - including of social media and email passwords.

No matter when it happened, where it happened and regardless of whether it was reported to the Police, we are a free and confidential service and our friendly team will be able to offer you practical or emotional support, to help you move forward with your life.

Our Victim Care team are all experienced and professional; we will help to you to understand your rights.
